woke up at 6.30am bcos i was gonna participate in THE GREEN RACE wif baolin, hongde, randy and xc

sian rained last night, v gd atmosphere for sleeping late luhhh...zzz
reached newton mrt at ard 8++, competition supposed to start at 9.30am
of coz, no GOH's flag-off, no go...he late by 10+mins? o.0

ok so basically its an amazing race abt the environment in singapore [cue lame 'woahs' and fake shocked expressions]
3 compulsory stops, starting pt at newton area, j8 [so far...], and the recently opened marina barrage
+other random optional stops for additional pts
choice of physical or mental activity at each station
1st stop we gt was plaza sing
task: find 4 measures capitaland has done to conserve energy at plaza sing

chionged ard, gt communication prob hongde gt separated frm us
he choinged for escalator to go downstairs bcos we were deciding to change task
then we tried to call him back
actually he was still at the top of the 'down' escalator, so gt chance to get back to the flr we were at
but then gt a calafare couple block his way, so he have to go alllllll the wayyyy down
zzz wasted time searching for him, and him searching for us
but rly, if tt couple nv block hongde's way back up the escalator....

anyway we finally gt him back \o/
found 2 measures, i juz random say plaza sing use auto tap to save water
ha, they accept
bl said energy efficient lights
ha, also accept
heehee crap out last min oso can =p

choinged to macpherson cc as optional activity [hindsight, wasnt such a gr8 idea =/ ]
so we had to use materials to make an empty bottle fly over a line at the bball court [tecky....i noe u wan to play XD ]
zzz tried to make it glide - didnt work
crush the whole thing - still nv work -.-
even tried to folo other ppl's method - EVEN work sia =.=

so we juz change activity lol
watch vid and ans qns, in air-con rm =D [shud hav gone there earlier zzz]
filled up the questionnaire
gt 1 incorrect, they let us redo [or else hav to watch vid again zzz]
lol i think the officials v nice to us bcos we 1st grp to go tt station XD

bl, randy, me: aiya nt much time left, go j8 str8 liao, pangseh the rest of the stations
hongde: undecided
xc: wanted to go other stations for more pts

as usual, logic and numbers win
we decided to go j8 in the end =D, nt much time left anyway
bus ride super long
listened to randy's collection of cantonese songs on his ipod
zzz, tune nice, but i dunno to understand cantonese, so...
choinged to j8
...task there was to sing and dance, incorporating 'going green' in it
zzz nt 'or', 'and' le
in the end after many responsibility-pushing and yakking, hongde sang, the rest of us 'wrote' 'Going Green' wif ur butts
no, it isnt funny, i assure u =.=
and we had to do it 3x bcos first two tries below time requirement of 45 seconds zzz
so we juz do random actions as filler :D

choinged to marina barrage
desperate for shuttle bus bcos its schedule is so #$^@#& long
managed to squeeze up the bus
hongde nearly couldnt come up, being the kind soul he was, let others go 1st
ya right....i pale in comparision bcos i was the choing-er as another grp was oso squeezing up the bus [they were l8r than us, choing up the bus 1st, more hiong2 than me la 0.0]
lol at least hongde gt up the bus
but the bus was getting swarmed, driver kept telling everyone to sit down, and no one can come up the bus liao
then gt rly insensitive person shouted in the bus: '...then close the door la, stupid'
win ._.
summore whole bus was sniggering la
zzz ashamed to say i sniggered initially bcos the guy's tone was super niao =x

final task was to do x-word puzzle
finished within 10mins =D
choinged to finish pt only to find out that we were disqualified bcos we reached the pt after 5hrs =/
shudnt hav went optional stations to early
choing compulsory ones 1st, then do optional ones
ah well =/
hoped against hope tt they extend time limits since so many teams nvr even reach
but no....strict rules zzz
stayed ard to see the area, listened to acapella performances =p
randy gt chance to kick chapteh in a mini-game
17 juggles wif 3 tries....far cry frm his 50++ juggles at once [tts wad he said]
given tt he was tired after running ard...yea =/
he gt a $10 delifrance voucher \o/
oh ya, randy, u owe me $2 for lor mai kai -.-
and baolin recorded the whole juggling thing in his camera =D

ok so we nvr win
zzz wanted to stay ard and take pics but every1 wanted to go home str8...

ah well, at least randy helped me take pic =D
u know the portable toilets there hor, v cute le, after u done ur 'business', use foot to pump to flush, and gt another pump for washing hands =D

decided to take leech bl and xc's taxi, since we were going same direction anyway
as usual, i was crapping randomly wif xc,
xc: 'i tell u ah, the other side shud hav no free taxi bcos ppl coming out take them to go home wad'
matt: 'this side oso wont, taxis rly will come here juz to take passengers meh? they only bring them here only la, then wad abt juz nw? 2 empty taxis go pass at opposite side le...'
xc: 'stumped'

LOL, bcos 2 empty taxis drove past b4 tt, and xc tot gt ppl, didnt bother to flag, but actually no 1 inside -.-

hongde wanted to take bus, randy decided to wait wif him
and we finally gt a taxi =D
then while in the taxi, the amicable taxi driver told us tt no buses were allowed to enter the marina barrage area
O.O randy and hongde...wait till 12mn still no bus!?...
xc quickly called to tell them abt it
randy and hongde then made their own plans to meet us
talked wif the taxi driver abt random stuff, like ns, ntu, a-lvls, ip...
zitao was right, taxi drivers do know alot as they pick diff passengers and learn stuff frm them...

reached west mall, xc had to go as his family gonna eat out, bl dropped off earlier
randy and hongde told me nt to wait as they were still at marina area =/
bought abit of food then went home
and typed this post. lol

all this, at the expense of a scouts meeting =x
eeek, they nv tell me earlier
and i gt an xtra green t-shirt =D
